Description
The approximately 210 employees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic
Microsystems (Fraunhofer IPMS) research in electronic, mechanical and optical
components and their integration into miniature »intelligent« devices and
systems. Services are geared towards customers who wish to enhance their
products by using organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and microsystems (MEMS,
MOEMS, CMOS) with their constantly decreasing dimensions and innovative system
properties. The institute's specific competence lies in the uses of light, i. e.
the application of optical properties and components.
The Fraunhofer IPMS covers a wide range of industrial
applications.
Services include
conception, product development and pilot fabrication in institute laboratories
and clean rooms – from devices up to complete system solutions.
Company Profile
The Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems in Dresden is your access
to know-how, expertise and modern R&D infrastructure in the field of optical
sensors and actuators, integrated circuits, organic materials and microsysystems
(MOEMS).
Board of Directors
Prof. Dr. Hubert Lakner Managing Director
Prof. Dr. Karl Leo Director
Dr. Harald Schenk Deputy Director
The Fraunhofer IPMS is one of 56 institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the
leading organization for applied research in Germany, and also in Europe. It is
devoted to research of practical utility. Relying on 13,000 employees, the
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has a research budget of 1.3 billion euros. Two thirds
of this sum are generated through...
