Headquartered at Langenhagen, Germany, MTU Maintenance Hannover was established in 1979. It repairs and overhauls mid-size and large commercial engines like GE's CF6-50 and CF6-80, Pratt & Whitney's PW2000, IAE's V2500 and General Electric/Snecma's CFM56. MTU Maintenance Hannover is the world's leading repair base for the V2500 engine. The company additionally provides customer training, maintenance training, financial services and 24-hour service. Its Engine Pool Services provides airlines and industrial gas turbine operators with replacement engines whenever needed.
In August 2005, MTU Maintenance Hannover became an approved production organization for the PW6000. The facility will have the only final assembly line for the PW6000. That makes it the third German MTU location to have a final assembly line for new engines.
