An extensive range of cost-effective products is available for sealing, connecting and protecting telephone networks, providing the platform for creative solutions for copper and fiber network applications from the exchange/head-end to the subscriber premises. For MDF applications three families of products are available to provide reliable, quick and easy-to-use systems for wire management in situations where there is or will be a need for protecting, testing or breaking the circuits. This includes main distribution frames in exchanges as well as in cross-connect cabinets in outside plant and in building entrance terminals. The Quick Connect Distribution Frame (QDF) family of termination magazines are based on 8- or 10-pair connection blocks that utilise Mondragon’s split cylinder insulation displacement contacts. The Universal Connection System (UCS) product range is based on 10-pair connection blocks with angled IDC contact tags. Tyco-C5C is the latest addition to the Tyco Electronics’ family of digital transmission quality connectors. It is a further development of the very popular families of IDC magazines like such as the UCS and the QDF.
