Product Description
Baldor’s linear HyCore TM motor has won first place in a prestigious Product of the Year Award. This is an award which engineers review, decide and vote between 150 finalists in an “Electric Motors, Drives, and Controls” category.
Baldor’s HyCore linear motor combines the best performance of linear brushless motors (accuracy, repeatability, zero backlash, speed and force) with the cost advantages of stepper motor construction. The HyCore “platen” contains no magnets, thus it can easily be cut to length to suit the application. This has an additional benefit of not attracting metal particles. The “forcer” consists of a three phase servo motor winding controlled via closed loop using feedback from an external encoder. The HyCore provides peak forces to 800 N (170 lbs); fast speeds to 1.5 m/sec (60 inches/sec); and acceleration up to 3 G’s.
