Omni-Rupter Automated Switching Systems are low-cost, fully integrated systems designed specifically for automating overhead distribution feeders. They're ideal for utilities looking to get started in distribution automation.
Each system includes an Automated Omni-Rupter Switch and a control unit that provides an interface between the switch and the master station or peer-to-peer communication with distributed intelligence.
Features of the Omni-Rupter Automated Switching Systems include:
Automated Omni-Rupter Switch. A "smart switch" especially adapted for distribution automation applications, with heightened mechanical performance and ratings
Omni-Mate™ Stored-Energy Operator. This integral operator provides electrical operation of the switch, as well as non-electrical mechanical opening and closing by means of a manual-operation pull ring
Wide range of controls matching your automation objectives. S&C Automatic Switch Controls combine sophisticated automatic control schemes with RTU functions, data logging, and advanced communications — and are available with the unique IntelliTEAM II® Automatic Reconfiguration System. Communication and Control Units are custom-engineered packages that work with almost any user-specified remote terminal units and communication devices to meet your unique automation requirements.
Many existing Omni-Rupter Switch installations can be upgraded to Omni-Rupter Automated Switching Systems.
