The IntelliTEAM III Automatic Restoration System was specifically developed for S&C's revolutionary new IntelliRupter® PulseCloser and the new high-speed S&C SpeedNet™ Radio. Based on the proven IntelliTEAM II® Automatic Restoration System, IntelliTEAM III goes even further with features designed to maximize distribution system reliability. IntelliTEAM III sets the standard in distributed intelligence. It offers real-time load-management features that ensure circuits are not overloaded during reconfiguration. And with IntelliTEAM III, automatic return to normal is enhanced by directional fault detection, which ensures that only the right IntelliRupters trip — even when circuits are paralleled between substations! IntelliTEAM III features: Advanced Adaptive Protection. In complex distribution circuits with multiple ties to adjacent circuits, protection has usually been considered a “first contingency” priority. Ensuring that circuits remain coordinated after reconfiguration was virtually impossible . . . so multiple contingency faults resulted in widespread interruptions. But with Advanced Adaptive Coordination, protection coordination is automatically updated as circuits are reconfigured. Multiple contingencies won't leave customers in the dark! Automatic Protection Setup . S&C's unique Precision Curve Fitting algorithm automatically develops a protective curve that coordinates tightly with the substation breaker. Then, using high-speed propagation of information via the SpeedNet Radio system, time-current coordination settings of downstream IntelliRupters are set automatically. Automatic Protection Setup maximizes the number of IntelliRupters with unique time-current coordination settings. Communication-Enhanced Coordination ensures that only the last device feeding a faulted section clears the fault. You'll be able to deploy an unlimited number of IntelliRupters for circuit segmentation . . . while still minimizing MAIFI and MAIFIe.
