LDO touts lowest quiescent current for automotives

Product Name: LDO touts lowest quiescent current for automotives

Product Description

Phoenix—ON Semiconductor says its NCV8664 is the industry's first linear regulator to incorporate reverse-battery, short-circuit and overload protection with the lowest quiescent (Iq) current performance specified over the automotive temperature range. Optimized for on-board auto systems, many of which specify a ignition-off (quiescent) current of less than 100 microamps, the 5-volt, low-dropout (LDO) NCV8664 draws only 22 microamps typical, and 30 microamps maximum, over -40 to +85°C—a wider temperature range than most low Iq regulators on the market, according to the company. The regulator delivers up to 150 mA.
