Houston—Touting the highest power density, Hewlett-Packard's HP UPS R1500 G2, for network applications, is an ultraslim 1500 VA uninterruptible power system (UPS) that fits into a 1U-high space. The line-interactive supply, which also adds a USB port to the R1500 XR legacy product, can correct input voltage variations as low as -35 percent of nominal voltage without transferring to the battery. The UPS comes with surge protection for network devices, a fax machine or a modem. The UPS also has two separate load segments which provide the flexibility to configure each segment's scheduled startups and shutdowns. Working in conjunction with HP Power Management Software, the supply can be configured to extend the runtime for more critical devices. Other features include intuitive front panel display, enhanced battery management (EBM), prioritized shut-down, and hot-swappable batteries. Bundled with HP Power Manager management software, the HP UPS R1500 G2 also features a serial and USB port for data exchange with the host computer and remote shut-down.
