Carlsbad, Calif.—Emerson Network Power's expanded Astec NTS Series family of 350-watt bulk AC/DC switching power supplies include 24-volt output configurations. Available with convection cooling or optional forced-air, the compact units are designed for use in distributed power architecture configurations.
The fan-cooled NTS355 delivers full rated output at up to +50°C for 30 CFM cooling; the convection cooled models, in a compact 4-by-7 inch footprint, will deliver 200 watts for 1U (1.75-inch high) rack-mount applications. For added flexibility, the units can be set up for lengthwise or crosswise airflow.
Operating at 85 percent efficiency, the supplies, working from a 85-264 VAC or 120-320 VDC input, incorporate active power factor correction to minimize input harmonic distortion. A built-in OR-ing diode eliminates the need for external circuitry when using the device in a redundant configuration. The units also include a 12-volt, 1-amp auxiliary output and 5 volts at 2 amp standby output. These supplies carry overload, over-voltage and thermal protection.
All models in the Astec NTS350 Series incorporate built-in Class B EMI filtering, remote sense, remote inhibit and single-wire parallelling on the primary output that enables current-sharing to balance loads. They comply with IEC EN61000-3-2 harmonic and IEC EN61000-4-X susceptibility standards.
Available now, the NTS355 is priced starting at $299 in OEM quantities. Forced-air units with a top cover fan are designated by a -CF suffix on the model number
