Product Name: Wind Energy
Product Description
Vectorply has been a supplier to major wind energy rotor blade producers since 1995. More recently, because of the growing popularity of infusion, Vectorply has brought innovative reinforcements to the market place to work in conjunction with existing laminate designs. Specifically heavy weight unidirectionals that reduce lay-up time while delivering the all-important mechanical properties. Because of an innovative approach to building heavy weight reinforcements (55oz/yd^2, 1,559 g/m^2), Vectorply recently won a major contract based on superior mechanical properties. In this case proprietary stitching mechanisms keep fibers aligned thus increasing compression strength.
Today, Vectorply’s innovative thinking is enabling blade manufacturers to infuse thicker parts faster. VectorFusion™, a series of infusion specific reinforcements are fully structural but designed for fast resin flow and thorough wet out. When VectorFusion™ is combined with reinforcements typically found in the blade root (+/- 45º, 0º, 90º) infusion times are dramatically reduced and maximum properties attained.
Vectorply provides the tools that spark imagination. The ideal laminate is closer today than ever before
