XT tube shuttle is designed to load and unload devices from the XH handlers by delivering the tubes automatically to the loading position. It exists in four main variants:
XT1L - loader shuttle for up to 30 tubes for 150-mil SO packages;
XT1U - unloader shuttle for up to 30 tubes for 150-mil SO packages;
XH3L - loader shuttle for up to 30 tubes for 300-mil SO packages;
XH3U - unloader shuttle for up to 30 tubes for 300-mil SO packages.
The tube shuttle loader delivers tubes with SOIC devices from a tube storage magazine to the input of the handler where devices are automatically loaded in.
Up to 30 tubes are manually placed in the storage magazine, one tube above the other. The lowest tube is singulated and pushed to the loading position. When all devices have fallen in the input track of the handler, a new tube is singulated and pushed to the loading position while the empty one is rejected in a box.
The tube shuttle unloader delivers empty tubes from a storage magazine to the output for good devices of the handler.
Both the loader and the unloader models can be used with standard plastic and aluminum tubes for 150-mil and 300-mil SOIC devices.
The tube shuttle is connected to the electronic controller of the XH handler and its operation is controlled by the state machine included in the handler software. The device flow in/out is controlled by optical sensors. Detected mechanical problems are displayed in the status window of the handler.
