Product Description
Instructions:
This is a fantasy choose-your-own-adventure story. You play the role of a fictional character, caught up in a confusing and involved quest through an unknown territory. First, read the introduction, and choose the path that you think you want your character to follow, clicking on the link of the choice that you prefer. Then, read the continuation of the story based on your choice and make another choice only after you have read the story preceding it. Beware, there are many wrong decisions you can make that could seal the fate of your character, so think carefully to make the right decisions.
Disclaimer: Given the fantasy atmosphere of this story, there are some inconsistencies with reality. However, there is also a great deal of factual information in this story. Generally, it is simple to determine what is real and what is false. Clearly, glowing rocks do not exist (as far as we know), but most of the information about the environment in which the character is located is factual.
Introduction:
Red. The last time you looked, the ground was yellow. Now it is red. Could you be dreaming? Is this another mirage? Weren't you just trying to cross the Sahara desert on foot? This is not possible. It is freezing cold, but the sun it out. Wasn't it supposed to be hot in the desert during the day? Ouch! You pinch yourself to make sure you aren't dreaming. You are definitely awake.
Kneeling down, you touch the ground. The soil feels very rocky, falling through the cracks between your fingers. Wow, it really is cold - it must be 10°C (50°F) out. Something must be wrong. The sun seems smaller - more distant and certainly less intense than in the desert. Looking around, you notice that you seem to be in some sort of barren field of rocks, red rocks. Your backpack! There is a GPS (Global Positioning System) in it, which should be able to tell you where you are. You bring your backpack to your stomach, allowing you to open it from the front. Only then do you notice that your backpack seems to weigh a great deal less than normal. What is going on? Opening it, you notice that everything is as you left it back when you knew where, and when, you were. The GPS - maybe that will answer some questions…if only the thing gave you a reading or any clue as to where you were. You quickly realize that the GPS will be no help.
