Many times worn rolls can be refurbished to original specifications. This service is often faster than building new rolls and less expensive. There is a wide choice of welding alloys that we use to build surfaces back to size, alloys that meet or exceed original material specifications.
Other forms of repair include replacing broken roll components. Just about every part of an existing roll can be repaired or replaced.
We do a complete evaluation of every roll before any rework is begun. An inspection of the roll is performed and all data recorded. Recommendations and cost of repair are then provided to the customer. No additional work is performed after that until authorized by the customer.
Sometimes operating conditions around existing rolls change and the rolls originally designed need altered to their new environment. We have taken rubber covered rolls and converted them into steel bodied, carbide coated, chrome plated, heat treated or plain style rolls. Just about any roll in any condition can be modified.
Ask about roll refurbishing. It might be possible to reuse what you already have.
