BattleScape®, an advanced visualization tool, provides an integrated
battlespace visualization environment for the warfighter. By providing a
continuous display of surveillance and reconnaissance sensors’ positions and
fields-of-view, including terrain constraints, BattleScape offers unparalleled
accuracy in assessing the battlespace environment.
BattleScape, built using the EDGE® Product Family
technology, leverages 10+ years of technology-driven modeling, simulation,
visualization, and analysis experience into the premier visualization tool it is
today.
BattleScape provides:
- Extensibility through an open interface that allows layers, or plug-ins,
to be created which integrate near, real-time feeds, user data, or provide
additional functional capabilities
- Continuous real-time information reported by surveillance and
reconnaissance sensors through plug-ins and displayed in the 3D
visualization environment
- Missile objects that can be created by defining launch and impact points
- Satellite/constellation import, creation, edit and management
- Advanced modeling and simulation capabilities offer precise sensor
analysis for satellites, and air and ground-based platforms
- Simulation clock to control the execution of events in the 3D Earth window
- Capability to create user-defined camera points
- International Political Map display
- Terrain detail that depicts essential intelligence by using elevation data
for line-of-sight analysis
- Railroad lines, major roads, Night Vision, and HUD display
- Weather imagery import to display weather data in the 3D Earth window
The following layers, or plug-ins, are included with BattleScape:
- Smart Volumes are user-defined, 3D spaces on the earth with warnings and
alarms that sound when a track enters and/or leaves the volume
- Updated ACO/ATO Layer is now rolled into a single layer, with many new
features like Altitude and Time filtering
- Updated TDBM Layer provides some Common Operational Picture (COP) data
- Position Velocity Manager for viewing the position of objects (sites,
satellites, tracks, and sensors) while the clock is running
- Visibility Manager for viewing detections between objects (satellites,
tracks, and sensors) while the clock is running
- VPF Layer for displaying and converting NGA Vector Product Format (VPF)
data within the 3D Earth window
- Shapefile Layer for loading ESRI Shapefiles into the application
