Advanced Information Systems (AIS) is headquartered in Anaheim, California and has California offices in Seal Beach and Sunnyvale in addition to Herndon, Virginia. AIS is divided into five areas of focus: advanced programs, information systems, marine systems, network systems, and tactical systems. Key programs and activities include the Echo Ranger commercial surveying unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV), the acoustic subsystem for the U.S. Navy's Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) program, and exploratory development work conducted in the AIS Network Laboratory. Advanced Information Systems is a division of Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems, the Boeing business unit that is dedicated to government and commercial space systems as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. More than half of the work performed by AIS supports classified government programs.
