Flexibility of Model Creation The WITNESS VR module has been designed to seamlessly integrate with the standard WITNESS system. Once your standard model has been created within the core system, a “fast build” facility allows you to automatically view your model in a virtual world using standard images from the WITNESS VR library. Alternatively, if you want to create a more accurate representation of your environment e.g. show the details of a piece of equipment specific to your company, you may build a tailored virtual reality view incorporating personalized graphics if required. User-friendly Viewing Using WITNESS VR, you can move around your simulation model as if you were inside the process yourself, viewing activities from any angle, at any size. As a result well understood processes are viewed in a totally new light and your understanding of the business process improves considerably. WITNESS VR New Object Creation With the strength of the WITNESS VR Fastbuild option, the only barrier to creating stunning VR models at the touch of a button is the availability of suitable 3D objects. Lanner can now provide the service to develop high quality objects for you. A selection of your chosen common objects can be created quickly and cost effectively enabling the creation of your own VR library. Lanner Objects are built specifically for live visualization and fly-through capability. They incorporate the latest techniques in level of detail to enhance performance. They can be created from any chosen source, even from a photograph or drawing. Lanner Objects also include the creation and storage of higher quality versions of the objects created. These enable our customers to enter the world of photorealistic quality and fly-through described below. WITNESS VR Photorealism Service When a view has been created using Fastbuild, Lanner provides a new service to create truly stunning videos incorporating a fly-through of the new model layout. These videos are so realistic that it is hard to believe that they are computer-generated models at all. Using the Lanner Objects generated, we can create a two minute video showing your new layout or facility. The video can be played back on normal PC computers—the size of the video will be tailored to the capabilities of your machine. The process involves the substituting of the real time VR objects with the higher quality objects stored by Lanner. The view is recreated using these objects in a true physical lighting VR system. This offers wonderful reflections and shadows and creates photorealistic effects. WITNESS VRDX The WITNESS VRDX module is an add-on option to WITNESS VR. It allows the creation of a simulation trace file that can be viewed in a special VR viewer.
