An Alternative to Traditional Transparent or Clear Resins
In addition to the more commonly used transparent materials (polycarbonate and acrylic), Ebbtide Polymers makes available two non-traditional materials that exhibit sufficient clarity or transparency for many applications. These alternative transparent resins are Transparent ABS and Transparent HIPS.  Our product line includes a variety of grades with the following attributes.

Economics of Transparent ABS and Transparent HIPS

In addition to the attributes listed above, Transparent ABS and Transparent HIPS offer many economic advantages that include:

• Lower specific gravity than polycarbonate (lower part weight, lower cost per cubic inch)

• Easier to fill complex parts (lower scrap rate, better aesthetics)

• Lower processing temperatures and, in many cases, reduced cycle time over polycarbonate
