Sampling rates can be adjusted to provide
a detailed analysis of an event. High &
low control limits can be set such that
whenever the limits are exceeded day,
time and peak values can be stored
and/or used as a signal to shut down the
motor to protect equipment.
The Torque Sensor is fully floating with
no contact between rotor & stator.
Signals from the rotor are transmitted by
a capacitive transfer technique with
electric power supplied by magnetic
induction. A Digital Readout is provided
from which measurements may be read
directly. An additional analogue output is
provided which can be customised
according to the needs of end users with
PLC and similarly based applications.

The analogue output has compensation
for speed related magnetic changes. The
Torque Sensor is maintenance free, with
power derived from the mains supply via
a transformer, no batteries are required
The rotating component (Rotor),
contains sets of strain gauges providing for
forward and reverse operation without
the need to change and with it being
torsionally stiff it reduces the chance of
erroneous signals and therefore giving
better dynamic performance. The Rotors
are dynamically balanced to ISO.1940/1 :
1986 IDT grade G2.5 and fit between
coupling & drive unit.
The stationary component (Stator)
must be attached to a supporting structure
via the integral mounting holes.
The digital readout instrument
connects by cable to the Stator.
The readout instrument has a digital display. In addition a 0-10v analogue output is
provided as standard. Alternatively a
current analogue output can be provided.
The readout instrument is powered from
a mains input of 110 / 220 V AC
(switchable).
Sample Rate
The torque is sampled at a rate 10 ksps
(kilo samples per second), transferred to
the indicator and either displayed or sent
to the analog outputs.
Filtering
A digital low-pass filter can be selected
on the indicator for filtering out higher
frequencies. This filter is active only on
the digital display. The higher frequencies
are still visible on the analog outputs.
