The ModelPress Reader views the highly-compressed 3DF files as well as VRML, STL and HSF formats. It can be a standalone desktop application, be embedded in another desktop application, or be embedded in custom Web pages to be a Web-delivered control, designed to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

ModelPress does not use an application server, so scalability is not an issue. The published file sizes are so manageable, formerly huge models begin to display in just seconds. Because ModelPress does not require a live session server, 3DF files can be downloaded or e-mailed and viewed off-line, just as with other popular Web publishing formats ModelPress Reader is freely licensed to corporations and end-users who wish to publish and view CAD models for business commerce or educational purposes. Re-distribution is permitted; however, integration of ModelPress into any revenue-generating software application or software service requires a fee-based (royalty) distribution license from Informative Graphics. Technical support for ModelPress is available on a fee-basis.
