Product Description

ERAS®-KN Non-Resonant Knock Sensor
ERAS®-KR Resonant Knock Sensor
Application
This is a knock sensor which detects knocking vibration of the engine using a
piezo-electric ceramic. It is used for ignition timing control, and contributes
to improved engine performance and reduced fuel consumption. There are two types
of sensors, a non-resonant type and a resonant type.
Features
The frequency characteristics of a non-resonant knock sensor are flat between 5
and 15 kHz, which is the region in which knocking occurs, so the sensor can be
used regardless of the type of engine and is highly versatile.
The resonant knock sensor itself has resonance characteristics, enabling it to
produce a large output when knocking occurs.
EGAS®-A (Air Quality Sensor)
Application
This sensor is used for a system that automatically switches over the air
conditioner between internal circulation and external air induction (auto
ventilation control system). It is a gas sensor that judges the quality of the
air around the automobile.
Features
This is an intelligent type gas sensor that contains a microprocessor in the
sensor unit.
It is possible to separately detect CO which is emitted mainly from gasoline
vehicles, and NO2 which is emitted from diesel vehicles.
As a result of NTK\'s unique signal processing method, it is possible to perform
accurate gas detection.
As the next generation sensor, a unique device that uses MEMS technology is
currently being developed, aiming at greater compactness, reduced power
consumption and higher performance.
ERAS®-UM(Urea Sensor
Application
This sensor is intended for managing the urea tank of the SCR (selectable
reduction catalyst) which meets the new long-term regulations and the post new
long-term regulation. It can continuously detect the concentration of urea, the
water level, and the temperature in the tank.
Features
Performs level detection using capacitance, permitting highly reliable linear
detection without any need of moving parts.
Detects concentration using thermal conductivity, and judges whether the tank is
empty, whether light oil has inadvertently contaminated the tank, or whether the
correct concentration of urea is in the tank.
Temperature is detected using the heater resistance, permitting linear detection
over the entire temperature range.
