Product Description

Produce a set of castings of a Victorian cast iron fountain to be repaired and reassembled in Hull.

Step 1
A 'mermaid' section ready for moulding. All the replacement parts are produced using original section as patterns.

Step 2
Castings one of the 'mermaid' sections. The mermaids were produced in ductile iron to enable assembly by welding.

Step 3
Fettling and cleaning the 'mermaid' head and arms. Each mermaid is assembled from eleven separate castings.

Step 4
Rebuilding the fountain. The 'Mermaid' has been assembled from new castings.

Step 5
The fountain reassembled and erected on site. It is hoped to produce a further two complete fountains to replace ones which were removed during the fourties.
