The Scientific Congress on Organic Agricultural Research (SCOAR)
The Scientific Congress on Organic Agricultural Research (SCOAR) is a collaboration of producers, scientists, and others. Its mission is to plan and promote research and information-exchange for understanding and improving organic agricultural systems.
The Midwest Organic Research Symposium
The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Agriculture Educational Service (MOSES) and Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) organized a Midwest Organic Research Symposium held in conjunction with the Upper Midwest Organic Farming Conference Feb. 21-23, 2008, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. This symposium offered a unique opportunity for students and scientists investigating organic topics to engage with a knowledgeable audience. Individuals were invited to submit papers for presentation at the symposium and posters to be displayed at the poster session.
The Organic Agriculture Consortium (OAC)
The Organic Agriculture Consortium (OAC) was established in September 2000 with a $1.8 million grant, “Revitalizing Small and Midsize Farms: Organic Research, Education, and Extension,” from the USDA Initiative for Future Agriculture and Food Systems (IFAFS) program. Partners in the consortium are The Ohio State University, Iowa State University, North Carolina State University, Tufts University, the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF), and leading organic farmers. The goal of the OAC is to assist farmers with small to midsize operations to transition from conventional to organic production systems through integrated multidisciplinary research, education, and outreach programs.
