Solid State Relays provide a superior alternative to mercury relays, electro-mechanical relays and contactors. They contain no moving parts or hazardous materials. They are available with integral chassis heat sinks to cool the semiconductors by natural convection. These utilize high voltage SCR's for the utmost in reliability.
The Solid State Relays utilize zero voltage switching techniques for noise free switching as compared to the switching of mercury or electro-mechanical relay.
The SSR's are also available with a 4-20 ma d.c. proportional phase angle control or phase angle manual control from a potentiometer.
