Product Description
Battelle provides unique expertise and experience in the evaluation of
intelligent transportation system (ITS) deployments and the testing of
developing ITS communications standards throughout the country. As a prime
contractor for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Joint Program Office, our
staff combine ITS systems and standards expertise with data analysis and
evaluation capabilities to provide independent, technical evaluations of ITS
deployments around the country. Our staff are responsible for nationwide
customer satisfaction evaluation, commercial vehicle information systems
network, the Metropolitan Model Deployment Initiative (MMDI) in Phoenix, and the
rural Advanced Traveler Information System deployments in Missouri and Arizona.
Battelle staff also combine our detailed system engineering, communication, and
ITS background with the USDOT’s program to test the emerging ITS
Standards. Battelle staff are leading the way to independently test the
communication standards developed by the standards definition organizations to
ensure proper functionality and interoperability on a local, regional, and
