Product Description
The Sensor-Based GPS Receiver (SBR-LS) from u-blox containing the ANTARIS® GPS positioning engine sets a new benchmark for accurate positioning in areas where GPS reception is hindered, for example in tunnels, city canyons, indoor and underground parking facilities, and as well as other difficult areas. The SBR-LS is the right solution for reliable in-vehicle navigation, vehicle location, fleet management and GPS-enabled road pricing systems where 100% road coverage is a must.
Sensor-based GPS receivers supplement the GPS information with an incoming signal from a gyroscope (turn rate sensor) and from odometer pulses to reconstruct the traveled route through longer periods of GPS outages with aid of dead reckoning. Depending on the quality of the available GPS signals, the innovative Enhanced Kalman Filter (EKF™) algorithm from u-blox computes the next positions accurately by using an automatically weighted average of the GPS and sensor inputs.
Compared to standard GPS receivers, the SBR-LS provides significant advantages in following application areas:
In-vehicle navigation systems:
Accurate and timely driver directions in tunnels, underpasses, urban canyons and parking houses. Very efficient elimination of multipath effects prevents position errors resulting to misleading navigation advices.

Accurate and up-to-date position of the entire fleet is reported anytime and anywhere, including tunnels, covered driveways and indoor parking. The increasing requirements for efficient logistics and security will be met.
GPS-enabled road pricing:
