Product Name: Advantage 900 UltraliteCNC Systems Package
Product Description
The Advantage 900/Ultralite CNC package features a Fiber Optically Distributed control platform known as MACRO. The MACRO distribution ring enables machine tool builders and retrofitters to place key control components such as motor drives, I/O modules, feedback interfaces, etc.,) in small enclosures mounted remotely around the machine. These componets then communicate over a single high-bandwidth fiber optic ring. Once the machine device (motor, I/O point, etc.) is connected to the cabinet the only other necessary cabling required is power and a small pair of fiber optic cables. This can dramatically reduce the amount of actual wire, cable track size, and the time necessary for installation, resulting in greatly reduced initial costs.
Large machines can realize tens of thousands of dollars in savings by moving to a MACRO distributed control system.
