Changing a Focusing Lens on Amada machines is now simple, quick and easy. With the new Focusing Lens Holder, there are no screws and no Indium wire to complicate the task. The Focusing Lens Holder was designed and manufactured specifically for the Amada machines by the Optics Group of Ophir Optronics Ltd.
The new lens holder was designed with the customer's needs in mind and to improve efficiency by eliminating the need for special tools for changing the lens.
Versatile and durable, the Focusing Lens Holder fits both the 5" and 7.5" FL, is available in 1.5" diameter and accommodates all standard lenses, whether Plano-Convex or Meniscus, having 7.3±0.2 mm ET.

Plano-Convex lenses are best suited to high-power cutting and welding of metal, wood, ceramic, plastic and composites where cost of production is more important than accuracy. When profiling steels and thicker materials, this type of lens provides a larger kerf, allowing more oxygen into the cut to enhance the production process. Moreover, these lenses have the greater depth of field needed to maintain a straight edge.
In comparison, Ophir's Meniscus Lenses produce a beam of smaller diameter, reducing spherical aberration and allowing more precise cutting and marking. The smaller spot size delivers the same power into a more concentrated area, increasing cutting speed by up to five percent.
The Ophir Optics Group line also includes Total Reflector Mirrors that are used outside the laser cavity to turn the beam or as corner mirrors. Zero phase shift mirrors maintain polarization of the laser beam to ensure an even cut, while the 90-degree phase-retarder mirrors are designed for precision profiling, as they eliminate the slightly ragged edge normally associated with laser cutting.
Other quality products from Ophir are Duralens™ cavity optics in the form of rear mirrors, windows and output couplers. Copper mirrors can be silver coated for enhanced reflectivity that's guaranteed to be higher than 99.8 percent.
