CaulerpExit

Product Name: CaulerpExit

Product Description

CaulerpExit process was invented from observations demonstrating the abnormally high sensitivity of Caulerpa to copper.

In order to only impact Caulerpa, a copper electrolysis system was developed and prooved respective of the environment.

Copper electrodes activated by electrical current, produce a transfer of copper ions from one side of the vehicle to the other, using sea water as the electrolyte.

Any parts of Caulerpa Taxifolia exposed to these copper ions for less than two minutes starts an irreversible discoloration process ending in the complete disappearance of the algae in a few days.

This process does not create any copper pollution since infinitely small amounts of copper ions are only generated by the electrolysis.

The process is also biocide free.

Backed by nine years of research and experimental studies, and a proven successful track record in treating local french sites, CaulerpExit machines are developed with a clear goal to:

* Limit the spread of new colonies
* Create Caulerpa free oasis in invaded areas for the preservation of the Mediterranean biodiversity.

CaulerpExit Test Results Testimonials

Electrolysis on a seaweed free seabed:
“During the electrolysis, the copper concentration inside the sediment decreases below the concentration observed inside the surrounding substrate” M Jean-Pierre Magnin – Laboratoire d’Electrochimie et de Physico-Chimie des Materiaux et interfaces – Universite de Grenoble - France

Electrolyis on a seabed with algae:

“…the difference between the analysis before and after treating is minimal: 10mg/kg before, 12mg/kg after” Professor Nardo Vicente- Laboratoire Zoologie et Biologie Marine – Universite d’Aix-Marseille III - France

“ Local Fauna, being Cymodosa Nodosa ou Posidonia Oceanica, is not affected by this process. Epiphytes stay well alive on the leaves. The same is observed for vagile animal species. One week after the electrolysis, Cymodoceans specimens sampled in the treated zone and in a control zone show no morphologic or anatomic differences.” Professor Nardo Vicente- Laboratoire Zoologie et Biologie Marine – Universite d’Aix-Marseille III - France
