Product Name: Combat Display Emulators
Product Description
DRS's Combat Display Emulators use advanced, low-cost Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) display and data processing technology that simulates the functionality of the U.S. Navy's shipboard tactical display consoles. Operationally identical to the Navy's newest shipboard systems, they meet the Navy's requirements for operator training and testing, but at significantly reduced costs - typically half to one-third that of equipment built to military specifications. They are ideal for operator training and testing at such Navy shore facilities as laboratories, aircraft tracking sites, training sites and other land-based installations. These emulators provide an important budgeting advantage to installations that develop applications, train personnel and engage in surveillance operations.
DRS's Combat Display Emulators are designed using commercially designed cabinets that possess a similar appearance as the ship-installed consoles and provide an important budgeting advantage to military installations that develop applications, train personnel and engage in surveillance operations.
The open-architecture and COTS-based design of all of DRS's display workstations meet or exceed the critical performance, reliability and long-term support requirements of the company's government customers. Workstations from product lines developed and manufactured by DRS are used on board military platforms and at military bases for a variety of air, sea and land applications.
DRS's Combat Display Emulators are based on the modular design of a variety of military terminals, including the UYQ-70 and OJ-535. Our emulators provide command interpreter functions to support emulation of the OJ-194, OJ-197, OJ-451 and OJ-452 consoles in a physical replication of the OJ-535 terminal and base unit. These emulators feataure reconfigurable operator panels that support multiple platform baselines in test and training applications.
Our Radar Video Simulator supports plug-compatible emulation of the SM-441 video signal simulator and features programmable radar parameters to simulate any surveillance or navigation radar in the U.S. Navy's inventory. Additional features include complex scenario generation and control of target, clutter and jamming environments anticipated into the next century.
DRS's communications systems offer connectivity to the military sound-powered interphone and radio/telephone switchboards. Both the AN/UYQ-4 and AN/UYQ-21 communications panels are supported and may be interfaced to our patch panel to provide a stand-alone communication system.
DRS has extensive experience in the development and production of these emulators for shore-based applications. This is demonstrated in the number of our products supporting U.S. Navy and international navies in software development, maintenance and training facilities. A comprehensive customer support program includes spares, training support and maintenance services, reflecting our dedication to customer needs and our commitment to quality. DRS has long-term experience in the development, production and system integration of COTS display systems, as well as a strong reputation for successfully developing and delivering the most versatile, cost-effective and high-performance workstation product lines for Navy tactical training requirements.
