Product Description
The AN/USQ-130 Link-11/TADIL-A Data Terminal Set (DTS) provides all required
modem and network control functions in a Link-11/TADIL-A System using either HF
or UHF radio equipment. The AN/USQ-130 meets the DTS requirements of
MIL-STD-188-203-1A and may be operated as a picket or net control station in a
Link-11 net. As a net control station, the AN/USQ-130 accepts addresses from the
tactical data computer or from a separate control panel.
The system provides all the modes of Link-11/TADIL-A systems including high and
low data rate. It also operates in the Single-Tone Link-11 Waveform (SLEW) mode.
Selection of the Conventional Link-11 Waveform (CLEW) or SLEW is made over the
remote control interface.
The AN/USQ-130 provides a 2,400 bps, full-duplex, RS-232 satellite/wireline
interface which transmits and receives compatible Link-11 data in digital form
which may then be sent over satellite, wireline, or other tactical circuits. The
system can be operated in either digital mode, conventional mode, or mixed mode
(gateway), where some net participating units operate in the digital
transmission mode and some in the conventional HF or UHF mode. Link quality
analysis indicators include multi-path spread, fading bandwidth, net cycle time
since last reply and tone power spectrum for each participating unit in the
network. Using these indicators, an operator can troubleshoot equipment failures
and configuration set-up problems in the net and determine when HF propagation
problems require a change of radio frequency. Built-In-Test provisions in the
MX-512PA include loop back functions which verify operation of the system.
