Product Name: Litespan-2000/2012 Next-Generation Digital Loop Carrier
Product Description
The Litespan-2000 and Litespan-2012 systems are advanced SONET-based next-generation digital loop carriers (NGDLC) providing both ATM-based Digital subscriber line (DSL) and time division multiplexing (TDM)-based narrowband/wideband services from the same plug-in channel unit slots. Litespan supports multiple voice switch Interface types simultaneously from the same Litespan common control.
Alcatel-Lucent continues to add features and functions to the Litespan platform. Litespan-2000 was the first NGDLC to use SONET (OC-3) transport. The Litespan 2012 was later added as an NGDLC supporting SONET OC-12 transport. Litespan was also the first NGDLC to support integrated ADSL services. With additional development efforts, Alcatel-Lucent has added ADSL2, ADSL2+ and READSL2 to the already long list of services supported on Litespan.
Litespan 2000/2012 also supports circuit emulation services (CES) for transporting TDM services over packet networks (such as ISAM 7342 and 7330). The Litespan 2000/2012 remote unit (MS-R) and Central Office Terminal circuit emulation card (MS-C) enable operators to deliver DS0 and DS1 TDM specials over new Ethernet-based access networks.
