The need to restrict energy loss through windows, for example, requires that glass should be able to shield and insulate while satisfying more sophisticated design standards. In view of the important role glass plays in maintaining comfortable environments, we are furthering the development of glass products, building materials, and systems used to enhance the comfort of our surroundings so that they provide better performance in terms of heat shielding and insulation, soundproofing, lighting, safety, fire and crime prevention, protection of privacy, and electromagnetic radiation shielding. Through our efforts as a leading manufacturer of functional glass, we continually introduce new types of glass to the construction industry. SPACIA®, the world's first evacuated glazing glass with excellent thermal and sound insulation performance Through the use of special vacuum technology, we were the first to develop SPACIA®, a thin evacuated glazing glass. With a thickness of just 6 mm, this glass provides twice the thermal insulation of conventional double glazing glass and four times that of single pane glass. While ensuring comfort, saving energy, and reducing condensation on the glass surface, it also provides superior sound insulation. Furthermore, SPACIA® is useful for raising the insulation ability of existing houses through window glass replacements that may until now have been difficult because of thickness of conventional double grazing glass units. Furthering the pace of development from a global standpoint As industries everywhere experience the pressure of increasing the pace of development for new, highly functional products, NSG is building a system to provide global information and technology in the form of products in a timely manner. Examples of our success include the development of double glazing glass, PAIRMULTI REIBORG®, PAIRMULTI LOW-E®, and other PAIRMULTI® products that meet the need for improved functionality; the development of PLANAR FITTING SYSTEM® in response to the growing trend of transparent construction emphasizing the inherent transparency of glass; PYROCLEAR® wireless fire prevention glass and other types of reinforced glass; and the development of PYROSTOP for see-through fire-retardant walls, UMU® switchable light control glass, and other types of composite glass. A comprehensive system responds to all types of construction needs NSG started its activity to tackle the issues of electromagnetic shielding and noise reduction, which is now a highly important social interest. In the area of electromagnetic shield, we provide the EMI Clinic System, offering services of diagnosis, implementation, and effect measuring. In the areas of architectural acoustics and noise reduction, we are contributing to providing more comfortable environments with the SOUND CLINIC SYSTEM®, which incorporates services covering diagnosis, design and implementation of sound environments as well as offering industrial, railway, and road soundproofing systems. Meanwhile we are developing necessary materials for these applications including interior and exterior building materials, at the same time furthering the creation of more functional and comfortable homes and workplaces by entering into the new markets such as clean rooms.
