Product Description
Inmarsat C is one of the most flexible mobile satellite message
communication systems in the World, it has the ability to handle commercial,
operational and personal messages just as easily as distress and safety
communications.
Inmarsat C offers two-way, store-and-forward packet data communication
via a lightweight, low-cost terminal.
Inmarsat C is the only system in the world that, on its own, allows
ships to meet the majority of the communications requirements of the GMDSS.

Inmarsat C is recommended for the any of the following applications:
- E-mail and messaging
- Fax and telex
- SMS text
- Remote monitoring
- Tracking
- Chart and weather updates
- Maritime safety information
- GMDSS
- SafetyNET and FleetNET
Inmarsat mini-C offers two-way, store-and-forward packet data
communication via a lightweight, low-cost terminal. It also meets the
requirements for Ship Security Alert Systems (SSAS).
Inmarsat mini-C has low power consumption and is therefore ideal for
smaller vessels where power supplies are limited.
Inmarsat mini-C is recommended for the any of the following
applications:
- E-mail and messaging
- Fax and telex
- SMS text
- Remote monitoring
- Tracking
- SafetyNET & FleetNET
- GMDSS*
* Inmarsat mini-C is suitable for use with the GMDSS provided the
model installed has been type approved for that purpose. As at December 2006 two
models have been so approved: JRC: JUE 95 (July 05); Thrane & Thrane:
Sailor - TT3000E (December 05).
