Product Description
Inmarsat mini-M is our premier voice service, providing dial-on-demand
connectivity to normal terrestrial networks around the world. Through a rugged
notebook-sized terminal, users can make telephone calls and send fax and
low-bandwidth data virtually worldwide - as simply as using a normal phone.
With more than 100,000 registered terminals, Inmarsat mini-M has
established itself within many industries, through its reputation for flexible,
reliable communications. The use of Inmarsat's geostationary network makes
mini-M extremely reliable. Several solutions exist that enable multi-user access
and social calling, including the use of pre-paid cards, and payphones.
Typical mini-M hardware solutions include:
- payphones for rural telephony installations, through the cost-effective
Large Antenna mini-M (LAMM) terminal.
- vehicle-mounted antennas for communications on the move.
- solar panels for recharging.
