Product Name: Monitoring, tracking and control solutions

Product Description

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)

Near real-time remote monitoring and control of in-field equipment and processes. Hardware and physical state data is fed into a computer running a SCADA application. It is processed and reports generated for periodic transmission. The application also responds to certain received requests and alarms in an appropriate manor. Many situations exist where having the personnel available onsite is not feasible - this is where SCADA can provide a cost-effective solution. Currently it is heavily used within the oil and gas, energy, transportation and natural resource management sectors.

For SCADA solutions see:

Asset tracking

Inmarsat's network enables accurate Global Positioning System (GPS) data to be beamed from a terminal to update online or local fleet management systems in near real time. Terminals can be poled for instant updates, or pre-programmed for automated reports at regular intervals, providing current speed, direction of travel, position and other information. These attributes have led to growing demand in the haulage, security and general transportation sectors supplying a vast array of markets.

For asset tracking solutions see:

Telemedicine

This is the utilization of communications networks for remote patient assessment. With varying levels of complexity, telemedicine ranges from the transfer of simple vital signs information, such as an ECG trace, through to high-quality video for motion analysis. Potential markets exist in all remote areas where access to medical expertise is severely restricted.
