Product Description
SDR, DDR, and DDR2 small-outline DIMMs (SODIMMs) are ideal for applications
where space is a concern—and they still achieve maximum power, density, and
cost effectiveness. No matter what type of notebook form factor you’re
designing for—ultra mobile, ultra-portable tablets, thin and light, or desktop
replacement—Micron has the solution.
Micron SODIMMs are available with several important options, such as error
correction code (ECC), extended temperature, and low power. See the part tables
for details. RoHS-compliant packaging is available upon request. All packaging
conforms to current JEDEC standards.
Data Reliability in a Narrow Module
Small applications can still require powerful memory modules to handle data.
Clocked SODIMMs (known as SO-CDIMMs) provide two distinct advantages over their
unbuffered counterparts—an ECC chip for data buffering and a phase-lock-loop
chip for precision signal timing. These two components provide increased speed
and data reliability in the ultra-narrow SODIMM form factor (just 67.6mm long).
