Product Description
DDR2 SDRAM advancements enable DDR2 devices to operate at data rates of 400
MHz, 533 MHz, 667 MHz, and above. Changes in DRAM architecture, signaling, and
additions to the mode register mean lower power consumption with twice the
bandwidth—without increasing demand on the DRAM.
Other DDR2 architecture modifications include shortened row lengths for
reduced activation power, burst lengths of four and eight for improved data
bandwidth capability, and the addition of eight banks in the 1Gb densities and
above. Changes were also made to the mode register and extended mode register,
including CAS latency, additive latency, and programmable data strobes.
Current offerings include 256Mb, 512Mb, and 1Gb devices that support speeds
up to DDR2-800, with a recent introduction of our first functional 2Gb DDR2
device. With all the features and package options available, Micron’s best
memory technology, DDR2, continues to promote high-quality board designs.
