The HDTVxpress™ Compressor PCI board makes it easier and more cost-effective to develop high definition content in a PC environment. Using the LSI Logic DoMiNo™ network media processing architecture, the HDTVxpress Compressor is the industry’s first high-definition television (HDTV) real-time encoder PCI board.

Typical professional HDTV encoders come in a stand-alone rack mount configuration, which is difficult to integrate with PC applications. With the HDTVxpress Compressor board, it is now possible to compress HDTV-level, high-resolution content in real-time on a Windows 2000-based PC.

With the HDTVxpress Compressor solution, new markets like professional video servers, surveillance and DVD authoring, are benefiting from a smaller, PC-environment encoding system. The single PCI board is also a key enabler for multi-channel video servers in studio environments.
