The LSI L3800 is a single-chip recordable DVD drive controller capable of high speed reading and writing of virtually any recordable media including CD-ROM/DA, CD-R/RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-R/RW and DVD +R/RW. Both CAV and CLV read and write methods are supported for CD.

Its advanced architecture affords reduced error rates, greater seek accuracy, and improved seek access time. Power management is provided to reduce power consumption and increase power efficiency. The L3800 works seamlessly with all DoMiNo® DVD recorder system processors, which are highly integrated solutions with advanced features, to reduce overall system BOM costs.
