It's a compact, rugged, lightweight test set designed for handheld use in the field or C/O.The DSR224 supports SF(D4), ESF, and SLC-96 framing formats with AMI and B8ZS line coding. It also provides a VF Drop with speaker for monitoring and LEDs for indicating Signaling Bit status and DS0 8 bit Data on a per channel basis.
