DVTel and Arcadian Networks Partner to Deliver IP-based Remote Surveillance,

:: 08 April, 2007

DVTel, Inc., ranked number one in market
share in network video software and multiple award-winning market leader in the
development and delivery of intelligent security solutions over IP networks, today
announced that Arcadian Networks, Inc., a privately held, mission-critical, wireless,
telecommunications carrier, has certified select DVTel IP-based remote video
surveillance and monitoring products. With this announcement, companies seeking to
secure and monitor remote sites and assets—electric utility substations, oil field well
heads, supply depots and equipment warehouses—can do so in real-time, wirelessly from
virtually anywhere across the Arcadian Networks broadband service area.
“Critical Infrastructure Industries such as Electric Utilities, Oil and Gas companies, and
Water Utilities have a tremendous need to ensure the physical security of their dispersed,
remote assets and facilities,” said Gil Perez, president and chief executive officer of
Arcadian Networks. “For the first time these industries will be able to cost-effectively
deploy state-of-the-art video surveillance technology via a private, wireless IP-network at
a fraction of the cost of alternative terrestrial methods.”
Since the US Federal Government Energy Policy Act of 2005, regulatory bodies such as
the NERC and FERC have been calling for tighter security controls over the nation’s
critical infrastructure in an effort to make vital national interests more impervious to
malicious attacks and resilient to natural disasters. In addition, the US Department of
Homeland Security as well as town, county, and state first responders such as police and
fire prevention authorities have sought new tools and technologies to better monitor highrisk
targets. With the combined solution from DVTel and Arcadian Networks, critical
infrastructure companies and those organizations that seek to protect these companies
now have a cost-effective, robust approach to rapidly deploy IP-based video surveillance
and access control solutions.
“We’re pleased that our products have passed the certification criteria employed by
Arcadian Networks and can now be offered to any company within Arcadian’s 23-state
communication service territory,” said Eli Gorovici, DVTel president and chief executive
officer. “Our combined offering will deliver greater levels of physical access control,
security, and surveillance to critical end user markets by leveraging our combined stateof-
the-art systems and mission-critical capabilities.”
The combined solution has already been successfully deployed and promises to reduce
the cost of field security, operations and management, while improving field technician
safety. What’s more, reduction in vandalism, theft, and malicious behavior will further
reduce costs and improve insurance premiums.
