Wintegra launches second generation DSL silicon and software

Wintegra has launched its WinArrow2 IP-DSLAM processor and software solution that offers software compatibility and increased performance to support high end ADSL2+ and VDSL2 applications while simultaneously reducing BOM costs. The entry level product in the WinArrow2 family offers equivalent performance to the previous generation. This is achieved by providing many optimizations, including high speed DDR-2 interfaces.

The parts can support sustained throughput in excess of 3 Gigabit per second. To utilize this increase, the backhaul connectivity has been doubled to 4 Gigabit ports. Based on the latest standards, it is possible to achieve the data rates required in high-end ADSL2+ and/or VDSL2 line cards.
