Description
We are looking for strong software quality engineers who will be energized by the opportunity to influence the design and implementation of a high performance software backend system in its early stages of rollout. You will be directly responsible for developing object-oriented code (Java) to implement quality methodologies, and for developing scripts to publish quality metrics for this new system. You will work closely with software engineers within an agile development process to understand the software architecture and recommend appropriate testing strategies. You will be expected to be an advocate for improving software development methods to move quality upstream in the Software Development Life Cycle.

You will be responsible for:
-Building functional and integration tests in Java
-Building and implementing automated test frameworks
-Proposing test strategies
-Developing scripts to automate metric gathering
-Automating the execution of test cases
-Implementing & executing optimal test plans
-Escalating issues for resolution throughout the product life-cycle
-Analyzing problems and determining root causes
-Reviewing functional and design requirements
-Reviewing code and unit tests
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or related field/ equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience, including quality
engineering
- 2+ years using object-oriented language (Java, C++ or C#) to develop
commercial applications
- Thorough understanding of software quality engineering methodologies
-Thorough understanding of software quality measurements
- Thorough knowledge of SDLC
- Ability to work effectively in iterative software development environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to create and maintain effective cross functional partnerships
- Experience with JUnit, JBoss, JMS, and / or UML modeling desirabl
