Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain large Avaya PBX and VOIP environments, including
determining and performing project tasks of medium to high complexity. Technical
tasks may include but will not be limited to installation, customization,
documentation, debugging, and performance tuning. Consultant should be an expert
in all the relevant standards and best practices related to the Avaya software
and hardware. Provide technical advice, counseling, and ongoing assistance and
training to members of the group and to customers. Perform in-depth technical
analysis of hardware and software and assist in making recommendations for new
technology.
The Consultant would need experience supporting and maintaining at a second and
third level support the following systems and technology:
Core Systems
Large Avaya PBX environments
Avaya Modular Messaging
Core Technologies:
Technical knowledge and experience with large Avaya telephone systems.
Avaya Certifications are highly desired.
VOIP Technology and its tendencies.
CTI background and experience.
TCP/IP experience.
QOS experience.
Telephony System and Traffic Engineering.
Router and LAN/WAN technology, ideally CISCO experience highly desired.
MS, AIX, and/or UNIX Server experience is highly desire.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Design, document, and implement Avaya telephony systems and applications to
support Humana's business requirements.
Perform second and third level support for the Avaya PBX environment.
Manage telephony projects.
Provide technological expertise to management and business partners in
determining business requirements and alternatives.
Research technological telephony solutions based on Humana's business
requirements.
Requirements:
Certifications from Avaya for their PBX and Voice Mail systems.
Minimum of 5 years Avaya technological experience in both software and
hardware.
Continuing education towards engineering certification from Avaya.
A college education in computer science is preferred by not required.
