Position can be located in the Sunnyvale, CA office or a virtual office as
long as you live on the westcoast and you are willing to travel. Also looking
for an FAE to be located in the Midwest.
Company Overview
Fast-growing international embedded system design company. Their product
enables software developers to begin months before actual hardware or hardware
prototypes are available. This is the only company with both high-performance
and timing accuracy for their system-on-chip hardware design used for
architecture optimization.
The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will play a critical role in fulfilling
the company vision. The successful candidate will report to the Regional FAE
Director and be responsible for
driving customer success with client technology. He or she will work closely
with Sales to ensure the client meets or exceeds its financial targets through
aggressive execution of both Presales and Post-sales (“More Sales”)
initiatives.
The FAE will be instrumental in advancing client's tools and technology to
cultivate the growing Embedded Systems Virtualization market. As a key
technical interface between
customers and the Corporation, the FAE will gather next-generation product
requirements and work with Engineering/Marketing to drive development of
future products.
Assigned a Sales territory, the FAE will have technical account responsibility
for the corresponding Sales quota. FAE Compensation will be the aggregate of a
base salary, MBO
bonuses, and sales commission.
Responsibilities
• Partner with Sales to meet or exceed Regional sales quota and objectives
through successful delivery of customer presentations, demonstrations,
benchmarks, and
evaluations
• Build supporting material (demos, tutorials, applications notes, etc.) to
win sales and proliferate company technology
• Assist customers using software tools and simulation models through
activities including:
o Integration of customer’s embedded code development tool-chain with client
Tools
o Creation of device models (C/C++/SystemC code to model hardware devices)
o Creation of Virtual System Prototypes using tools to assemble
hardware device models into simulation platforms
o Creation of Metrix applications (C/C++ code to dynamically process and
display
simulation data)
o Embedded software debug (processor initialization code, device drivers,
operating systems, middleware, application software, etc)
• Submit and monitor customer issues (report bugs, test fixes, distribute
fixes, etc.)
• Deliver customer training
• Attend and support regional trade shows
• Drive technical requirements and usability issues into Marketing and/or
Engineering
• Collaborate with the technical personnel in the WW Field and Engineering
Teams
Requirements
• Behavioral
o Track record of delivering technical wins & assisting Sales in
over-achieving quota
o Experience in successfully deploying high-technology software

o Ability to overcome obstacles through creative problem solving

o Proven ability to work productively with Sales and Product Planning teams
• Domain Expertise
o Fundamental knowledge of embedded systems software including processor
initialization, interrupt handling, task scheduling, hardware device control,
embedded OSes, device drivers, etc
o Familiarity with embedded systems development use cases in one or more of
wireless, networking, automotive, industrial, mil-aero, or consumer end
markets
o Fundamental knowledge of computer systems architecture including instruction
sets, processor modes, pipelining, cache & memory hierarchies, memory
protection, virtual memory, system interconnects including bus fabrics, point
to point, xbar etc
o Knowledge of design simulation technology and H/W device modeling
( Transaction Level Modeling a plus )
o SW development methodology and tool-chains
o C/C++ programming skills (SystemC a plus )
o Experience in hardware design (Verilog/VHDL)
