SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the preparation of proposals, including pre-contract engineering,
proposal writing and cost estimation.
Develop or assist in development of sizing information and process
specifications for vendor supplied equipment.
Conform to all design standards and customer requirements by using customer
specifications, conventional engineering practices and departmental standards
and procedures.
Review or assist in the review of vendor drawings in order to assure compliance
with specification and standards.
Occasionally may assist in initial check-out and start-up and/or field service
activities of WAPC products and purchased components.
Develop working knowledge of WAPC products.
Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
Assist in the training of customer personnel.
Utilize CAD or computers to expedite design effort.
Keeps abreast of latest design and technical information.
TRAVEL:
Occasional travel. Travel may be more frequent during start-up of systems.
Assignments may be both Domestic and International.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: BS in Civil Engineering preferred but will
consider Mechanical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience
in Structural design. MS degrees with emphasis on structures, EIT or PE license
are advantages.
Required skills: Computer literacy, knowledge of data base, word processing and
spread sheet computer program. Working Knowledge of 3-D structural analysis
program such as STAAD PRO. Experience with CAD preferred.
Working knowledge of ASTM, AISC, ASCE. AWS, API, AWWS, and OSHA codes and
standards, and be familiar with the use of current national and international
Building codes.
