  • Responsibilities:
    Expand your career with the ever-growing Technology team of GE Energy Optimization and Controls (OC). As a member of the Global Support AE Team, you will be supporting the regional ITO teams by answering complex technical questions from customer specifications, coordinating training of regional Sales Application Engineers (SAEs) and consulting on proposal tool development and maintenance. You will primarily be focusing on GE excitation systems (EX2100). As we work to better demonstrate the value of a total GE solution to our customers, you will be the point person for integration of excitation products into complex proposals including turbine controls (GE Mark controls) and condition monitoring (Bently 3500). Includes approximately 10% global travel. Signature:

    Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Engineering or Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the utility industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Generator Control (Excitation & Static Starter).

    Desired:

    *Preferred Electrical Engineering specialization.

  • Masters Degree in a technical field.
  • Additional experience on manufacturing of controls.
  • Detailed understanding of the GE EX2100 hardware, software and applications.
  • Design, application and/or field experience on turbine/generators.
  • Detailed understanding of digital excitation hardware and software.
  • Working knowledge of current and vintage GE and non-GE excitation system designs.
  • Detailed knowledge of excitation and generation theory and ability to apply to customer needs.
  • Detailed knowledge of IEEE modeling of generation systems, power system stabilization and grid interconnect nomenclature.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Proven technical writing skills.
  • Good facilitation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with ability to meet goals within a matrix environment.
  • Greenbelt/Blackbelt Certification (GE Employees only).
