• Support design and development of complex communication and signal
processing systems, modeling and simulation, working on advanced research and
development projects, etc.
• Develops system concepts, architectures, designs and requirements for
advanced ground communication systems, specifically the network infrastructure
and data processing and security aspects of these systems.
• Influences the architectures, specifications, and design concepts decisions
to ensure Harris can offer sound, if not superior, solutions at a competitive
cost.
• Develops system requirements and allocates to system components.
• Creates and presents system engineering presentations and briefs customers
at their facilities.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.
Qualifications:
• BS degree or higher in electrical engineering, systems engineering,
aerospace engineering, or related engineering discipline with MS or higher
preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 15 years experience in overall systems engineering,
including 10 years of experience in the design and development of secure
communication networks and systems especially as it relates to the overall
protection of sensitive data.
Experience:
• Extensive experience in the areas of communications and signal processing.
• Milstar experience and XDR waveforms and protocols knowledge preferred.
• Experience in satellite communications systems, cellular and wireless
communication systems, terrestrial communication systems, communication
theory, adaptive signal processing, error correction coding, and Ultra-Wide
Band (UWB) technologies.
• Experience working with DSP and FPGA hardware a plus.
• Excellent communication skills are mandatory, as well as the ability to work
harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other
contractors.
