We have an immediate opening for an Network Systems Engineer who will be
responsible for providing technical support and services to senior engineers
and/or our government customers. In this role, you will work on networking
projects, support proposal development, provide technical training and lead
internal initiatives. Additional duties include site surveys, architecture
design, system evaluation, system analysis, security analysis, and assessment
of automation hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical services under the direct coaching of experienced GTSI
Network Systems Engineers and/or Principal Network Engineer; design, assess,
analyze, and troubleshoot IP-driven networks, systems and applications
- Perform analysis tasks to gather data for network assessments that will be
reviewed by a Sr. Network Systems Engineer or the Principal Network Engineer.
- Provide pre-sales technical support to GTSI Professional Services Network
Services Manager and sales in the form of presentations, white papers, and
client meetings.
- Help identify and gain client commitment for billed work. Must seek a
minimum of 75% billable time each month.
- Develop technical and professional skills through career-tract curriculum
and learning.
- Learn and understand technical specifications and capabilities of select
GTSI supported products
- Support GTSI Professional Services Network Services Manager in a pre-sales
capacity to help sell services through add-on-sales.
- Develop and deliver at least one GTSI Professional Services internal
training
Key Requirements:
-This position requires someone who holds an active TS Clearance
- A Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of industry experience in Information
Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical
Engineering or a related discipline is required. Practical military experience
in IT or Communications is also desired. Experience may be substituted for
education.
- Must demonstrate strong technical skills in the areas of voice over IP,
TCP/IP internetworking, network security, wireless and telecommunication.
- Must possess a minimum of one industry recognized networking certification (CCNA,
or equivalent) or attain the CCNA Certification within 120 days of employment.
- Must possess and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
and be able to meet and work with clients in a collaborative and partnering
function.
- Must demonstrate the ability to understand project scope and deliver with
SOW specifications.
- Must have high-energy work ethic and be available to work non-standard hours
during peak season times.
