L-3 Communications Klein Associates, Inc., is a world leader in the design and production of high performance sonar and security systems. We are currently searching for a Software Engineer with experience in both real-time embedded software and Windows GUI/API development.

The ideal candidate will assume a software development position in the design and maintenance of software products for real-time sonar and harbor security systems. The development focus will be tightly coupled with radar/sonar and signal processing hardware, to user interface and application development in a Windows environment. The candidate must be able to work closely in a development team environment and complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.

Requirements for the Software Engineer include:

• BS in electrical engineering or computer science (MS preferred) with a minimum of 3-6 years experience.
• Solid experience in designing, developing, debugging, testing and supporting API/application software in a Windows/GUI environment.
• Proficiency in MFC, C++, Win32 SDK and Visual Studio 6.0 is required. Experience with Visual Studio 2005 is a plus.
• Command and control of external H/W and peripherals via serial or socket interfaces is a plus.
• Exposure to H/W design, development, or test as a professional or student is a plus.
• Must be able to analyze software development requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints, including scheduling, implementation and initial testing.
